JC was born in Wichita Falls Texas, but grew up traveling the world as a military dependent. JC served in the United States Air Force as an Aerospace Propulsion Craftsman; having been a survivor of the Khobar Towers bombing in June 1996, and having served several tours overseas. After his military service, he settled down in Kaysville Utah and currently works at the Department of Veterans Affairs. JC came to Operation Climb On (OCO) because of his love for the mountains, mountain ecosystems and mountaineering in general; as well as a desire to find peace and social interaction with likeminded people as he strives to heal from his military combat experiences. JC is working toward becoming a certified climbing instructor, wilderness medicine practitioner and SCUBA instructor; and he currently helps OCO with writing and photography to better spread the message of what Operation Climb On is about and how we help others. JC is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, SCUBA diving, nature photography and playing music.
